Shepherds pie & pie Excellent flavor It's hot eat salad first let it cool. Lots of melted cheese on top Absolutely delicious
Asking the grandkids what they would like for early dinner and you'll get the obligatory pizza pie answer. But, after much thought and wanting better menu choices, my mind was set for taking family to Marie Callender's. We see couples going in and out but with 6 of us a place in the dining area near the salad bar needed to be readied. This gave me a chance to checkout the different fruit pies. Our table is ready and Sera took our orders. Kids were hungry and I'm glad they chose wisely. Mozzarella sticks for a starter and water all around. Chicken pot pie combo is a must and it comes with a slice of pie. An order of Albacore Tuna Melt was a great positive surprise. The youngest opted for the kids salad bar and she had a good way to plate soup and fruits. A juicy American cheese with strips of bacon combo hamburger was another winning combination. The lovely missus selected the salad bar. I made the same choice as I see that there are 4 types of soups and fresh greens and toppings and the blue cheese dressing is the best. I also noticed sliced white jicama that is a rare find and it brought a natural sweetness to the mixed green salad. We had a full platter of corn bread with a spreadable butter. My visit to the soup line included bean soup and a good tortilla soup. I knew Mary Callender's would be a good place to take the grandkids. I ordered a whole Cherry Pie to take home. All is good.
I buy pies here for family gatherings. It is sad that most locations are going to be closed soon. I hope they have enough consistent business to keep their doors open for years. I have so many memories with my family dining at different locations and always had a good experience. Friendly staff and great food.
Ordered a few items for our Thanksgiving dinner feast (as we were visiting from out of town). I'm not sure why but my expectations were pretty low, but everything was delicious! A little scary the morning of when we went to pick up and saw the line was well out the door, but everything worked great. Would recommend if hoping for a nice Thanksgiving meal for a group and you don't feel like / aren't able to prepare a meal.
The spinach artichoke dip was pretty good. Our whole table liked it. The fish and chips was great. Huge pieces of fish. It could easily be shared by two people. The French Apple Pie with nice crumble topping was wonderful. The Banana Cream Pie was pretty good. The German Chocolate Pie was not that great because it was actually a mousse and had the coconut and pecans blended in. Wine Wednesday means half priced bottles of wine, and they have Sauvignon Blanc but they still turn out to be around $20. Instead you can bring your own bottle of wine and you may or may not incur a corkage fee.
